1. Meet Dr. Ellison

HL_Why_ACW_Why_I_m_Here.jpg

My name is Katherine Ellison and I started  Always Chiropractic & Wellness in 2005 with one purpose:

To heal the world through chiropractic care, one person at a time.

I believe every person deserves to live a life full of health, happiness and wellness. Along with nutrition and exercise, I know first-hand the role chiropractic can play in an active, balanced life.

In fact, the unequaled benefit of chiropractic made me opt-out of medical school, and pursue a doctorate of chiropractic instead.

The healing power of chiropractic is humbling, and I have been fortunate enough to see it help:

  • Infertile couples have healthy babies
  • Children relieved of constipation, ear infections, colic and temper tantrums
  • Computer users eliminate headaches, back pain and carpal tunnel syndrome
  • Chronic migraine sufferers reduce frequency and intensity of pain
  • Seniors decrease the pain and stiffness associated with arthritis
  • Disc injuries and sciatica heal without surgery
  • Deteriorated hips, knees and joints strengthen without surgery
  • Pregnant women eliminate pain and experience natural births
  • Accident and sports injuries heal quickly and avoid surgeries

If you're looking for a place that…

  • Treats all people as family
  • Always puts health first
  • Laughs, motivates and inspires
  • Welcomes all regardless of age, sex, income, sexual orientation or religious beliefs
  • Holds people accountable for their health, yet does so lovingly and gently

Then we might be just the fit for you.

The supporting health practitioners (massage, acupuncture, etc.) at Always Chiropractic & Wellness are truly some of the most compassionate and skilled professionals I've met. And trust me, I've worked with quite a few.

The Nuts and Bolts -
A Brief Overview of My Experience

A bit more about my background... Before opening Always Chiropractic & Wellness, I was fortunate to have helped hundreds of terrific patients at the Seattle-Capitol Hill office of Chiropractic Wellness Centers. I ran the clinic from 2001 to 2005, and as many of my patients will attest, it's where I "cut my teeth". I began my career at Odegard Chiropractic Clinic in Kirkland, Washington in 1999.

Upon graduating from Queens University outside of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science Degree, I fully intended to become a medical doctor. However, the more I looked into it, the more I realized that medical doctors were trained to treat the body's pain, not the symptoms causing it. This was typically done through various drugs and medications.

While I was 100 percent in favor of medications in necessary situations, I also knew the body was a marvelous, complex wonder. It was exponentially more powerful and intricate than anything the human mind could create. I wanted to help people in a way that would allow the body's natural healing power to work its wonders. I wanted to help people get healthy and stay healthy so they could enjoy their lives. That is what I found in chiropractic.

Along with treating patients, I absolutely love to spread the word of chiropractic through public talks and presentations. Once a shy, green doctor who was uncomfortable practicing in front of the mirror, I now love to educate and inspire large and small groups alike about the powers of chiropractic and healthy living. Some of my most frequent topics include Stress Management, Weight Loss, Fibromyalgia, Menopause, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Children's Health Issues, Exercise and Nutrition.

If you have any questions, or want to know more, please contact me. Until then, I wish you the best in your pursuit of health and wellness!
